This is a character journal for May in the LJ 'Tribe' RPG,

the_mall. I am not Laura Wilson and I do not claim ownership of the character or connection to anyone involved in the show. All characters involved in this journal are the property of Cloud 9.

An Extended history of May:

May’s first interaction with anyone from the Mallrats was with Lex. She saw Lex sleeping in the street, and decides to take a peek into his bag. Taking care not to disturb him, she put her hand inside. She wasn't careful enough, and Lex grabbed her: “so what's your game then?” Later, Lex met the rest of her Tribe. They call themselves the Outcasts because they had been thrown out of other tribes for some not so nice things. They protect each other from the “bad dudes” out there. Lex talks to his new friends, telling them how he was leader of the Mallrats, and that all other tribes, like the Locos, Demon Dogz and even Tribe Circus, never messed with him without regretting it. May is puzzled - why did they throw you out? Lex says they didn't - he chose to leave. May is still puzzled: you left a nice cozy, safe Mall to sleep in the gutter? Lex loses his cool, repeating that no one throws Lex out. May is laid-back about it, and tells him to take it easy - he is with friends. May tells him that the Outcasts will be moving north tomorrow. Lex knows that's where the Chosen are. May already knows, and adds that they are strong and look after him. She would very much like Lex to go with them. They kiss, but when Lex wakes up the next morning, the Outcasts, his bags and shoes are gone.

May isn’t seen again until she finds Salene alone on the streets and saves her from “The Smile” Salene convinces May to return to the Mall with her. Once in the mall, she meets Lex again and isn’t greeted very well. “You stole from me!” So, he remembered her! May is accepted as a Mallrat for saving Salene’s life. While trying to make up with Lex, she recognizes Trudy. Running back to Lex, she spills the beans.
May: Lex
Lex: What?
May: Oh my God! What is this? What is she doing here?
Lex: What’s wrong?
May: She’s with The Chosen.
Lex: Yeah, yeah, we know. She escaped.
May: What do you mean, “escaped”? She’s not just with The chosen – she’s THE SUPREME MOTHER!

Even after telling Lex the truth of Trudy, Trudy convinces everyone that it was an act. This does not last, as the Chosen capture the Mallrats, all but Lex. May is held prisoner of the Chosen just like the rest.

But May is a survivor and will do anything to survive. After some time in captivity, she convinces Salene to join the Chosen with her, telling her that it is the only way to get food. They both voice that they want to become one of them. They are brought to a ceremony were they become novices along with Patsy. Soon another joins them, as Cloe becomes one of them. The Guardian suspects that May is a spy and confronts her. She is not the spy, but soon becomes one, as she begs to be brought to the Guardian where she promises to produce Bray, who has escaped. She collaborates with him in a plan to get Bray.

While in the city, executing their plan, she is captured by Lex and taken to Bray and the others. She puts on a brilliant act of being happy to see them. After some questioning, she convinces them to go after Trudy, “the most important person in the chosen.” She tells them when they can nab her. When she returns to the Mall, she meets with the Guardian again and tells him of the plan. The plans doesn’t go as planned but May is granted another chance by the Guardian by becoming Trudy’s handmaiden. While is in this position, she does what she does best. She causes trouble for everyone. She tells Trudy about Tai-san’s visits from the Guardian and leads her to believe that the Guardian is “with” Tai-san. Trudy goes crazy with this and send May to research this more.

Eventually, with all that goes wrong at the hands of the Chosen, May decides that she wants out of the Chosen and back into the Mallrats. Alice tells her that in order to prove her trustworthy, she will become the spy, and take up where Pasty left off. It is during this time, she meets Pride. Her and Pride plan to remove Brady from the Chosen and succeed. They get closer and closer, then May tells Amber about her feelings for Pride. During the Rebels attack on the mall, May kisses Pride for the first time.

But with that kiss came feelings that would not be satisfied. After the Chosen were defeated, Pride decided to go back to the Eco Tribe. He left the mall even though May told him that she wanted him to stay. Pride returned to the mall with Bray, but only because Amber is missing. May was excited to have him back and told him that she wanted him to stay forever, but Pride told her that they are only friends. She was devastated at his words. This isn’t the first time Pride will break her heart.

During this time, May began to feel really alone, like no one wanted her in the Mall. She spoke with Salene about this and Salene assured her that she wanted May here. The guilt from all the bad things she had done were really starting to get to her. Not only did she betray the Mallrats, but she caused Dal’s death, something that’s she could never forgive herself for. True, she did help them in the end to defeat the Chosen, but her guilt overweighed it greatly. Even though Pride had rejected her, May continued to stand beside him, defending him to anyone who came with ill-will.

While Pride’s stay in the Mall, they get closer and closer. May seems to get jealous often and after one incident with Elle and him, she decided to apologize to him. It doesn’t come out right, and she began to avoid him. Pride sought her out this time and explained that in his Tribe they don’t hide their feelings and he spoke freely about his feelings for Amber and how they cannot be returned because she loved Bray. He realized how he felt just like her, then suddenly and passionately kissed her. But Pride urged her to keep their new relationship a secret.

But this didn’t last long, as Pride realized that he still loved Amber even if he couldn’t have her, so he avoids May at all costs. May saw this and was extremely hurt by it. She even tried to make him jealous by excepting the necklace from KC, but KC decided to give it to Cloe inside. May rushed off, pushing by Pride. Pride went to check on her and found her crying on her bed. She knew he doesn’t love her, and no matter how much he denied it, she decided that she is going to leave the mall.

KC found May all liquored up in the casino and asked her what was wrong. May’s reply was, “Life's good. Then just as you start to look forward to waking up in the mornings it all changes. You realize you're being used. You're a substitute for the real thing but by then it's too late - you're in too deep. And all you can do is sit back and watch.” He doesn’t quite understand what she is taking about, but then Pride appears behind KC. Pride and her went from a walk, and she tells him why she left the mall. “Because you are everything I ever wanted. Because I love you and I know you don't feel the same. ... I can't live like that - okay- being around you, not being able to touch you, seeing you every day knowing you don't want to see me; It's like a torture. And how long will it be until I became a nuisance? "Poor old May - there she goes!" Even though May knew little about his past, she felt like she had loved him for ever. And it's breaking my heart. Pride declared he does love her. After saying it again, they hugged, but the look in his eyes says he lied. She continued to ask him if he really loves her and every time he told her that he does. But he had lying to her.

It was not too long after this that the city was attacked by the Technos and she was among the Mallrats that were taken captive. She was forced to work in their mines for 12 hours a day, and when their work was done, they were plugged into the Game which offered her little sleep in between. By the time May had been thrown out from their captivity, she was totally addicted to the Game and could not tell the difference between reality and virtual reality anymore. It was a long time before she could.

After Pride forced her to realize that he feelings for her were non-existent, and never were true, she allowed herself to become addicted to Paradise. It was the only place she could live where she was happy and had everything she wanted. May was faced to work through her addiction on her own, mainly because she didn’t see anyone else trying to help her.

It was at this time, she choose to lose herself and disappear from the Mall for awhile. It took sometime, but she knew her home was with the Mallrats. And when the New Order of the Chosen returned, they kidnapped some of her fellow Mallrats. May led a league that had saved Salene, Bray, Mouse, Baby Bray and Siva from the disturbed Chosen. It was at this time she met Dax, who had been a guardian for the Guardian.

Dax was allowed to come back to the mall with the rest of the Mallrats, where he and May began to get closer. So it seems, May just might have to leave all the pain in the past, if she plans to make it work with Dax. Maybe, she hasn’t given up on the opposite sex just yet.
